Charting Last Week (8/12 - 8/16/13)

The Daily Leading Index fell by 0.58% percentage points to 7.54%. The Daily Coincident Index is at 3.06%. The Daily Leading Index page on the tab above is updated daily during the week.
Both equities and bond prices traded down last week. The charts below show the normal trading ranges for various indices for the last six months. The red (or green) area indicates 2-3 standard deviations above (or below) the normal 21 day trading range. The gray area indicates 1-2 standard deviations above (or below) the normal 21 day trading range.
The Leading Index for the International Developed Markets (EFA) declined to 2.99% after drops in the Leading Indices for Spain, Japan, and France. The Leading Index for International Emerging Markets (EEM) declined to 4.40% with a drop in South Korea's Leading Index. The Leading Index for the Developed Markets has been trending up this year while Index the Emerging Markets has been weak and is down for the year.
